DJ

In Santiago, really close to Bella Vista, is there a big market every day where you can find everything!! I found this guy who sells old tapes with recorded music in different genres from the past. At the right he has a tape deck where he plays the tapes, and you can't help but smile. Next time I'm at the market I will for sure buy a tape!

"Clocks"

What I have always found fascinating about art, is the realtionship between the artist and the work. It is impossible for an artist to stay objective in art. An artist do not only have to possess a great deal of talent, but also have to possess a different mindset than others. They have the rare ability to send messages to the world in form of entertainment, whether it is something that makes our stomach crumple up or makes us feel high on happiness. This made me wonder; what are the artist motive for making art? Why did Leonardo Da Vinci make Monalisa? Why did Mozart compose the symphany? Why did Pablo Neruda write love poems? Why did Andy Warhol introduce the world to popart? I believe, that art is a result of the artists free spirit and state of mind. They were all inspired by their sorroundings, and those I think are the most interesting, also includes all of the mentioned artists above, were the ones who had a muse. It is the old cliché about the artist and the muse. Pablo Nerudas poems would not have been love poems if it wasn't for his secret lover Mathilda, or Andy Warhols art would not have existed without "The Factory" and Edie Sedgewick. The inspiration is the reason why the artists make art, their motive, and why they can never be objective, and why they always leave their trace after their death.

I would not compare myself to any of the other great artists, but I do have muses. They change from time to time, but at this moment my greates inspiration comes from the song "Clocks" by Coldplay. I always feel inspired when I hear this song. It is like I see every motion in front of me in pictures. A quick snapshot of life.

Let's have a drink

In Santiago it is impossible not to run into a person from Germany! (So far I know at least a handful)One can say many things about the germans, but one thing is for sure to be mentioned, they know how to drink! A world of new cocktails has opended its doors to me, so I just have to share it with you guys. Apparently everything can be mixed with Coca Cola. They have this absolutely fantastic drink called "Schoppen" or "Kalte Muschi" (it is german and means cold vagina) which contains half red wine and half coca cola. Bacchus might wrinkle his nose about this, but it is definitely worth a taste. In Chile it is called "jote" and means black vulture. It sounds disgusting, but it is so good! Of course not if you have too many. Another one I taught was the Cola mixed with beer, yes you got it right, BEER! My favorite is the beer Christal and Coca cola. Try it and let the taste buds be the judge, enjoy!!

IT'S BLOGGING TIME

Hans Christian Andersen (danish author) once said "At rejse er at leve" in english "To travel is to live", and I agree with him. He said that in a time where you could only cross land by horse or boat, today it is also possible to travel by airplane. Therefore I would like to dedicate this first article to the airplane, because without the airplane it would not be possible for me to travel to Chile, and therefore not to "live". After a month and a half in Chile I have discovered a whole new world. Not exactly like Columbus or Marco Polo did, but like a pilgram. My heart beats passionately for art, literature, music, fashion and what ever that can shake up a culture. This is NOT another fashion blog!! (just so you are prepared). Some people eat meat, others are vegetarians, some are modest, others are nudists, some are gays, others are homophobic, some are right handed, others are left handed, some cares, others don't. I am simply the hunter! the hunter for all of you who appreciate diversity, and like me wants to explore new countries, new cultures and new people. So thank you airplane, you've made my life!

xoxo Ditte

P.s I would like to hear your opinion as well, so feel free to comment on my articles. You can either write to me in danish, english, swedish, norwegian or spanish.
