What I have always found fascinating about art, is the realtionship between the artist and the work. It is impossible for an artist to stay objective in art. An artist do not only have to possess a great deal of talent, but also have to possess a different mindset than others. They have the rare ability to send messages to the world in form of entertainment, whether it is something that makes our stomach crumple up or makes us feel high on happiness. This made me wonder; what are the artist motive for making art? Why did Leonardo Da Vinci make Monalisa? Why did Mozart compose the symphany? Why did Pablo Neruda write love poems? Why did Andy Warhol introduce the world to popart? I believe, that art is a result of the artists free spirit and state of mind. They were all inspired by their sorroundings, and those I think are the most interesting, also includes all of the mentioned artists above, were the ones who had a muse. It is the old cliché about the artist and the muse. Pablo Nerudas poems would not have been love poems if it wasn't for his secret lover Mathilda, or Andy Warhols art would not have existed without "The Factory" and Edie Sedgewick. The inspiration is the reason why the artists make art, their motive, and why they can never be objective, and why they always leave their trace after their death.
I would not compare myself to any of the other great artists, but I do have muses. They change from time to time, but at this moment my greates inspiration comes from the song "Clocks" by Coldplay. I always feel inspired when I hear this song. It is like I see every motion in front of me in pictures. A quick snapshot of life.
